What You Need to Know When Planning Your God’s Thumb Oregon Elopement

This photoshoot was the most magical time. I literally can’t get over how unreal it all was! It was truly a dream to be a part of this Oregon Elopement Styled Photoshoot and work with so many incredible people at this Live Rooted Workshop. I am still blown away from this experience! My #1 God’s Thumb Oregon Elopement Tip: Be Prepared to Hike!

I’m not gonna lie, I was scared of this a little because the hike was about 4 miles round trip, and I don’t typically hike a ton. Like, I don’t even own hiking boots! But, it was so well worth it, and I definitely am looking forward to doing it again! Make sure you’re wearing shoes that are comfortable to hike in (you can always pack shoes to change into), and you might want to pack your outfits too to make sure you don’t get them dirty right away!

Next, Expect Foggy Weather!

On a clear day at God’s Thumb, you can see the Oregon coast below you, and one side of the mountain has basically a straight drop off a cliff (I was too scared I’d fall off to go see it!). But that just tells you how dramatic of a location this was! Once again, Oregon being Oregon, it was SUPER foggy. But I really think it added to the overall experience. It was like we were on another planet. Just crazy unreal!
